実はこんな案もありました！「企業理念」を英訳

こんにちは、マキンリです。

日本人ですが、名前の通り国際結婚をしており英語と日々戦っております。

そんな私がAMG Solutionより、企業理念を英訳してというお願いに軽くOKをしたのがこのブログの始まりです。どうぞよろしくお願いします。

では本題にまいりまして、まずAMG Solutionの企業理念をご紹介します！

AMGの企業理念

私たちは、仲間を笑顔にするという信念を持っています。
そして、私たちが「つくる」ことに意味があると信じています。

すごく社員を大事に思い、マネージメントされてる会社だなと感じました。

この感じたままを英訳したかったのですが、試行錯誤するもどうもカッコよくまとまらず……。直訳的な文章になっちゃうんですよね……。

あ、私の英語力の未熟さはとりあえず置いといて……。少しお恥ずかしいですが、ボツになった数点をご紹介します！緊張！

AMGの企業理念の英訳ボツ案紹介

案１はこちらです。直球ですね。

We have a great faith that to make all members smile with work.
And, I believe that is the meaningful we make that the way.

続いて、案２はこちらです。１行にまとめてみました（２行にしたかったようなのでボツ）。

We believe that there is true meaning in creating a work environment where the workforce is happy.

続いて、案３がこちらです。一語一語全てを英語にしてみました（なんとなくボツ）。

At work, we have great faith in making all our staff smile.
We believe that creating this has great meaning.

世界の企業理念

ところで企業理念を英語でいうと、言い方は企業によって様々ですが、PHILOSOPHYです。

羽を伸ばして世界ランクベスト２の企業理念をご紹介します。

まずは、HCL Technologiesの企業理念をご紹介します。

従業員を最優先に尊重し、選ばれる企業・選ばれるパートナーとなる。信頼性、透明性、柔軟性、価値中心性。

続いてGoogleの企業理念をご紹介します。

・ユーザーに焦点を当てれば他は後からついてくる。

・１つの事をとことん極めて上手くやるが大事。

・遅いより早い。

・Democracy on the web works.
・ウェブ上の民主主義は機能する。

・You don’t need to be at your desk to need an answer.
・答えが欲しい時はデスクにいる必要はない。

・You can make money without doing evil.
・悪事なしでお金は稼げる。

・There’s always more information out there.
・常に世の中には情報があふれている。

・The need for information crosses all borders.
・情報のニーズは国境を超える。

・You can be serious without a suit.
・スーツを着なくても真剣になれる。

・Great just isn’t good enough.
・すばらしい、では足りない。
